Ruben Dario Villa

Ruben Dario Villa works at Apple and gave us a lot of insight into how to thrive and excel in the digital media workplace.  He spoke a lot about adapting to the situation and learning new techniques and tricks as you go.  He also encouraged us by saying that his design skills have continued to grow while working at Apple.  Working at Apple has challenged him and the longer he works there the better he is getting at designing and creating successful.  I think that for someone who doesn’t see themselves working extensively in the digital media world, this talk encouraged me to go ahead and get in the workplace even if I feel that my skills aren’t adequate.  Working with other people and being in a different environment will help develop my skills and techniques.  Even if that environment isn’t Apple, the best way for me to grow in my artistic ability is to put myself in situations that challenge me.
